For Individuals

Each patient receives a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan that is individually designed for patients and families whose lives have been touched by an array of mental health conditions. We treat individuals at every life stage, including children and adolescents, adults and seniors.

Medication Management

If there is a need for medication, clients may also have an opportunity to meet with one of The Family Center’s prescribers. Guided by the prescriber, clients go through a medical history assessment and intake process to determine which medication may work best in addressing any current issues.

For Organizations

Courts:

The Family Center works closely with the local court system to provide mental health treatment for clients and individuals with substance use disorder, behavioral health issues, domestic disturbance problems, emotional trauma, legal issues, and more.

Youth Services:

The Family Center provides counseling to children and adolescents who have histories of substance use disorder, defiant behavior, depression, trauma, and anxiety.  Family therapy is an integral part of our treatment plan.  Therapists use a variety of techniques to build strengths, solve problems and develop a goal-oriented plan to make life improvements.

Veteran Organizations:

Are you “home yet”? A veteran can return home in body but without his or her spirit. We provide support to all military veterans and their families through individualized care as they transition back into civilian life. Clinicians at The Family Center provide individual and group counseling to address issues related to readjustment.

Hospitals:

We understand that individuals in need of medical attention may also have various mental health concerns. The Family Center is staffed with talented and credentialed professionals willing to collaborate with local hospitals to provide mental health services to nearby communities.

Education:

One of the most effective ways of addressing mental health concerns is through prevention and early intervention.  The Family Center partners with local schools to address behavioral issues in children and adolescents. Signs that a child may be in need of professional help include:

  • a significant decline in academic performance
  • hyperactive behavior
  • disruptive outbursts
  • refusal to attend school
  • depressive symptoms.

Senior Services:

Older adults often deal with increased anxiety, cognitive impairment and mood disorders. The Family Center provides services to the seniors in and around the greater Boston area and the south shore to seniors living at home, in hospitals, nursing homes, or assisted living programs.

Detox Centers:

The Family Center provides individual and group therapy to the residents at area substance detoxification centers—including patients in Volunteers of America Massachusetts’ substance abuse treatment centers for men, women, and adolescent males in the greater Boston community.

Group Therapy Sessions

Veterans Support Groups:

In addition to the option of individual care for veterans in the community, The Family Center offers weekly military support groups. These groups address issues related to readjustment, including:

  • PTSD
  • Depression
  • Substance abuse
  • Trauma
  • Suicide
  • Employment
